NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK! *I repeat* THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK!
Ok just wanted to make myself very clear......
>One person makes a very stupid remark about someone not knowing what
>song October is on, and then 10 or so people feel the need to post >to
Wire to point out the obvious of how stupid that post was
Im not even gonna deal with the issue of how dumb the post was/ what
it means to be a fan blah blah blah. When I read the above I just had to
THANK all the people that *did* come down hard on that post, because of
what it means to new WIRELINGS. Im a relative newbie (only been a
wireling for about 7 months), and have had some really seemingly stupid
questions I needed to ask before and have always found WIRE most
helpful and encouraging in regards to those *dumb questions*. If I had
read the post in reply to the October question (the one that said things
like "moronic" etc) when I first started out in WIRE, I would have
thought twice and probably 3 times before asking a question of WIRE
myself. It hardly encourages newbies to find their voice (never a
problem for me lol). However thats not the point. My point is that
everyone who posted in defence of the person who posted the question in
the first place (I dont have names....sorry) said more about the general
population of WIRE than they did about the actual post. WIRELINGS are
helpful, they dont tolerate other WIRELINGS being overly mean or unfair
to anyone, and they do try to help out newbie WIRELINGS in any way they
can. That is why it was important that several different people posted
their outrage (or whatever the case may be). It's an extremely positive
message. The more people that spoke out the greater the little invisible
support network of WIRELINGS there is out there. *THANKYOU WIREWORLD*
Not only that, but there cant really be advoiding multiple posts on a
subject considering not everyone is on the reflector version of WIRE
(I'm not...for one) and not everyone can access the WIRE Reflector Site
to check if anyone else has posted on the same topic or in reply to the
same post. 10 posts is nothing compared to the amount of posts there
would have been during Popmart, when Pop came out, hell when the Best Of
came out there was like 110 posts that day, most on the Best Of CD.
Of course the billion or so posts there have been about what was
missing from the Best Of were unnessecary.
Generally multiple posts mean people care,
