You *are* boring!
You forgot to figure in the fact that U2 were touring in 1997 and
the posts shot through the roof. Once the tour ended, the numbers
dropped a lot. It's not that hard to subscribe and unsubscribe to
Wire and the limit of 3 posts a day isn't that bad. If you can't
get everything you want to say on Wire into 3 posts a day...you
talk too much;) Even with the 3 posts a day, a lot of them are
boring, so it isn't really that limiting is it?
The new rules Joel imposed happen after one of those stupid,
really messy, flame wars. If I remember correctly, Joel took
Wire down for a few weeks because of it and this was during the
tour. The 3 post limit cut the flamers off fast and by the time
they could post again the next day, things had usually cooled down.
Oh yes, the last time I looked on Wire's homepage a couple of
weeks ago. It said the membership was 4,200 something. I can't
remember the exact number or how recent it was. Most subscribers
have always just lurked and read.
