Funny, almost all the song lyrics quoted in the original post were
references to oral sex. I know that's what they were about...it's
perfectly obvious. That's what making him feel so high..etc. The
meaning of the word 'high' changed a long time ago from a 'drug induced
state' to simply a feeling of euphoria which could be induced naturally.
I suppose I could compromise on the interpretations and conclude that
Bono is addicted to oral sex.
