hi everybody.
i have something to add to the drug discussion: u2 are doing drugs.
if you look back, the best music was always produced by people on drugs.
hendrix, elvis, beatles, waits, iggy pop, morrison,... (their best albums
are the later ones).
music like backstreet boys is absolutely drug free! for me, it seems
impossible to produce really good and deep music without any drugs. this may be
just alcohol (look at tom waits), weed or harder drugs. i do not think that
u2 are doing coke regularly (they surely have tried, like many other people
in the world) or any other hard stuff. i think they just enjoy to be drunken
sometimes and smoke a joint sometimes...
but this isn't bad, i think it is good. it makes a person easier (if you
know what i mean). the only problem is the danger of addiction. many great
musicians have destroyed themselves with drugs. but they have made fabulous
music and everybody loves them today.
hey guys, i would never take harder drugs (i have to earn money and i am
not a musical genius - so i cannot afford), but i will never do music like u2
do. so let them smoke weed and let them drink alcohol and if they want to,
let them take coke or h. just be happy with this great stuff you are
receiving from them. well, this is my point of view, i hope, some of you understand
me. with best wishes. christoph
