I thought some people might like to see a letter written to Charlie Rose
that points out all U2 have done recently. No, I'm not doing this out of
self-congratulatory narcissism; it's just nice to have a model to work
from sometimes (not that my letter is in any way encyclopedic - if you
can add more that they've done recently, please add it in your e-mail,
by all means). I'd love to see U2 on Charlie Rose. If you haven't seen
his show, Mr. Rose is an exemplary interviewer who seems to get the most
out of and in favor of his interviewees. They would be ideal guests on
his show.

Dear Charlie and/or his administrative staff,

    I would like to see U2, all or some of the members, interviewed for
your excellent show. U2, Bono in particular, have been very busy
recently. Bono has written a screenplay which has just become a movie in
production ("The Million Dollar Hotel"). The group have just released a
new "Best Of" and a home video of a show from their last tour. Bono has
also been commissioned to write the introduction to the Book of Psalms
from a series of books which have individual books of the KJV of the
Bible as unique volumes. Bono has also publicly commented on the Nobel
laureates Mr. Trimble and Mr. Hume in their drafting and subsequent
passing of the Easter peace accord in Ireland. Therefore, I think some
or all of the members would make intriguing guests on your show. I hope
you can make it work!
