U2 Webmasters: Participate in U2 Fansite Amnesty Day

December 10, 1998 is the 50th Anniversary of The Universal Declaration of
Human Rights.

Amnesty International is hoping to collect 60 million signatures to be
presented in the "World's Biggest Book" to UN Secretary-General, Mr Kofi
Annan, on this day.

To aid in the signing of the petitions, we, as U2 fans, would like to
attempt something different, something that will be a first amongst the U2
Internet community.

We are asking that webmasters of U2 sites modify their homepage for a
24-hour period on Monday, November 23rd (your timezone) to re-direct
visitors to an Amnesty sign page.

This will effectively mean that your site will 'shut down' as a U2 site for
24 hours and operate as an Amnesty International site for that period.
