This is a direct quote from email:
"It absolutely, positively sounds to me like most if not all of the
tracks on the A-Sides CD have been remastered. I've listened
to all of these songs anywhere between dozens and hundreds
of times on their original CDs and I would swear they have never
sounded this rich, deep or clear."
Also, the hidden track, "October", DOES appear 1 minute after
"All I Want Is You".

Kirk Franklin On R. Kelly's Early-Morning
Recording Face
Kirk Franklin, the man "Vibe" magazine credited with
putting the "go" back in gospel music, will make a
divine debut on the "Billboard" album charts next week
with his new record, "The Nu Nation Project."
The genre-crossing album features cameos from such
musicians as Mary J. Blige, Bono and self-proclaimed
"King of R&B," R. Kelly.
Franklin talked with MTV News about traveling to
Chicago to lay down Kelly's vocal parts for "Lean on
Me."
"We flew to Chicago to record Rob Kelly," Franklin
said, "and we flew into Chicago and got in around
6 in the evening, but we didn't record him until 6
in the morning. It was like mad crazy. To wake up
at 6 and go, 'OK, [R. Kelly is] ready for everybody
to pack up and go to the studio.' His breath was
stinkin', he had the eye boogers and all that. But it
was a blessing. The man is truly gifted from
heaven." [28.8 RealVideo]
Both Blige and Bono also turn up on "Lean On Me," the
first single from the "Nu Nation Project."
Franklin plans to head out on the touring highway to
heaven with God's Property sometime next year.

Bono Puts Words Into Mel's Mouth
Mel Gibson will star in "The Million Dollar Hotel," an
independent film written by U2 front man Bono.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie,
helmed by acclaimed German director Wim Wenders,
is a sci-fi thriller about the death of a billionaire's son in
a Los Angeles flophouse. Jeremy Davies and Milla
Jovovich are also attached to the picture, which is to
begin shooting in January.
Bono and Wenders have been compadres for quite a
while, with U2 contributing songs to such Wenders
films as "Until The End Of The World" (1991),
"Faraway, So Close" (1993), and "The End Of
Violence" (1997).

>From Mr. Showbiz:
Mel Gibson Books Bono's Hotel
Mel Gibson has booked a room at the Million Dollar
Hotel. The Hollywood trades report that the A-lister,
who's coming off the summer shoot-'em-up Lethal
Weapon 4, has agreed to star in the indie flick for
director Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire).
The long-in-production film, penned by Nicholas Klein
from a story he developed with U2's Bono, will star
Gibson as a federal agent who investigates the death of
a billionaire's son at a seedy hotel. The film is being
co-produced through Gibson's Icon Productions.
Jeremy Davies (Saving Private Ryan) and Milla Jovovich
(The Fifth Element) play two hotel residents whose
lives are turned upside down by the tenacious agent,
who is trying to determine whether the death was a
suicide or murder. Bono may also appear in the film,
and U2 will lend a hand on the soundtrack.
According to Daily Variety, Gibson may take a bold
dramatic leap and shave his head for the part, which
he'll shoot in January. While his role is central to the
film, his actual shooting time will reportedly only last a
few weeks.
After finishing work on Hotel, Gibson will continue to
prep for the May start of the big-screen adaptation of
Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, which he plans to
direct. Gibson is still trying to land a superstar for the
lead, and Variety says he's actively courting Brad Pitt.
And for those who enjoy rock and roll lore, the title
Million Dollar Hotel is also the nickname of a flophouse
in L.A. where, in 1987, U2 took to the roof and filmed
the video for "Where the Streets Have No Name."

>From The Hollywood Reporter:
Gibson checks into `Hotel' with Bono, Wenders
LOS ANGELES (BPI) Mel Gibson will star in director Wim
Wenders' ``The Million Dollar Hotel,'' an independent film that
the actor is financing through his company, Icon Entertainment
International.
``Hotel'' is about the death of a billionaire's son in a flophouse,
an event that leads a federal agent to upturn the residents' lives
to find out if the demise was suicide or murder. The picture was
written by Bono, lead singer of the rock band U2, with Wenders
and Nicholas Klein, who co-wrote with Wenders the director's
previous film, ``The End of Violence.''
``Hotel'' will also star Jeremy Davies, who recently starred in
``Saving Private Ryan,'' and Milla Jovovich (``The Fifth
Element,'' ``He Got Game'').
Shooting is scheduled to begin in January.
Gibson recently starred in ``Lethal Weapon 4'' and ``Conspiracy
Theory.'' He also stars in the upcoming Paramount release
``Payback'' (a k a ``Parker''), the feature directorial debut of Brian
Helgeland, the writer of ``The Postman,'' ``Conspiracy Theory''
and ``L.A. Confidential.''

DISH: Mel Gibson checking into 'Hotel'
By Michael Fleming
MEL GIBSON checking into ``Million Dollar Hotel''
NEW YORK (Variety) - While his primary focus is preparing to direct
``Fahrenheit 451'' for Warner Bros. in May, Mel Gibson will first take a
starring role in ``The Million Dollar Hotel'' for German director Wim
Wenders.
Sources said Gibson has agreed in principle to participate. In his
biggest play against vanity since ``The Man Without a Face,'' Gibson
might shave his head for the role, which he shoots in January.
Gibson's participation was expected after he postponed starring in ``A
Tale of Two Cities'' for producers Paula Weinstein and Barry Levinson.
He feared he couldn't do justice to a period picture and have time to
prepare for the Terry Hayes-scripted adaptation of Ray Bradbury's
``Fahrenheit.'' With ``Hotel,'' he can film a formidable role in a
couple of weeks.
``Hotel'' stars Jeremy Davies (``Saving Private Ryan'') and Milla
Jovovich (now playing Joan of Arc for husband/director Luc Besson) as
two misfits in a seedy hotel whose lives are turned upside down by a
badgering detective trying to solve a possible murder. Gibson would play
the detective.
The film, scripted by Nicholas Klein from a story that Klein hatched
with U2 lead singer Bono, is a co-production between Gibson's Icon
Prods. with Road Movies, and will be produced by Deepak Nayar, Bono,
Klein and Icon's Bruce Davies. Ulrich Felsberg exec produces, and Bono
will possibly play a role in the film, with U2 participating in the
soundtrack.
``Fahrenheit 451,'' a co-production for Warner Bros. between Icon and
Storyline Entertainment, still awaits final word on who will star.
Gibson would prefer to direct only and has been wooing Brad Pitt. Short
of a star of Pitt's caliber, Gibson will be in a similar position as he
was on ``Braveheart,'' which he also wanted to direct only but starred
in because his onscreen presence got the film financed.

>From JamTV:
U2's Bono making a million dollar movie
By RICHARD JOHN -- Jam! Showbiz
It seems like U2's Bono can't sit still these days. On the eve
of the release of U2's first greatest hits album, it was announced
that a video from their recent Pop Mart tour would arrive on the same
November Tuesday (the 3rd).
Now, with mere weeks to go, details are emerging of Bono's
foray into the world of movies, according to Variety. 'The Million
Dollar Hotel,' (aka 'The Billion Dollar Hotel') to be directed by Wim
Wenders, is apparently based on an idea from screenwriter
Nicholas Klein and Bono.
The 'The Million Dollar Hotel' is set in the year 2030 and r
evolves around "two misfits - Jeremy Davies ('Saving Private
Ryan') as Tom and Milla Jovovich ('Fifth Element') as Eloise - in a
seedy hotel whose lives are turned upside down by a badgering
detective trying to solve a possible murder".
Bono will possibly play a role in the film that will likely star Mel
Gibson as the badgering detective. Gibson is currently in
preparations to adapt Ray Bradbury's 'Fahrenheit 451' for the
screen and has allowed several weeks to film his role in 'Hotel.'
To add more credence to Gibson's involvement, 'The Million
Dollar Hotel' is to be a co-production between Icon Production
(Gibson's company) and Road Movies. Deepak Nayar, Bono,
Klein and Icon's Bruce Davies will produce the film. Ulrich
Felsberg will executive produce, and U2 are likely to
participate in the soundtrack.
This film strengthens the link between U2 and Wim Wenders.
U2 provided the song 'Stay (Faraway, So Close)' to Wenders'
1993 film 'In weiter Ferne, so nah!' (aka 'Faraway, So Close').
Wenders directed the song's video.

I was just out at my local mega-bookstore where I picked up the
October issue of Mojo magazine. It's a "Collector Edition" and the
cover story is the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time".
They have Bono coming in at #57 and have the following blurb:
"He puts more than just technique into his singing. You either got
it or you haven't." - John Power, Cast
Bono was always a religious singer, bursting with aspiration and
inspiration, ideal for the wide screen of stadium gigs rather than
murmurs of life's little intimacies. Inverse-evangelising a sort of
transcendent doubt, his hoarse, nasal voice is not a conventionally
beautiful instrument yet, driven by a genuinely questing soul, it has
achieved mighty moments like the soaring epiphany of frustration "I
Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." Moreover, past 30, he
began putting his oddly impersonal qualities to more subtle use via
his phased/distorted contributions to U2's electro-disco adventures
and McPhisto's fondness for nasty insinuation.

"Peace to U2
Smile, you're on camera! U2-frontman Bono - here on holiday in

His friends also join along. Only the man in the back of the photo
