It seems U2 was reading Wire since they chose Please as their next
single despite the fact that it is not radio-friendly at all. To even
add up to things, they released a rocking live version of the song as
well as a re-recorded studio version that resembled the lvie version
more than the album version.
Wire posted about how desperately they wanted Bad in the Popmart
setlist and how the karaoke wasn't a good idea. They posted about the
acoustic SATS being better than the electric. They posted about how
much they wanted to hear "40". Then again, it could all be
coincidental but I still am convinced that U2 reads wire or at least
they have a rep who does.
I don't think it's too late to change their minds on what to 15 tracks
to put in their greatest hits list.
I don't canre if there will be people who will "flame" those who put
greatest hits lits for being repetitive and boring. Just post the
damn things if you want your personal favorite songs to have a chance
to make the album....
Just a suggestion,
J
