GH album, I need some help with some facts, please read.

Hello fellow Wirelings,
I know there's a lot of talk about the greatest hits album and all and
there's only one thing that really bothers me. It's the fact that Paul
McGuiness said in an interview that U2 wasn't ready to make a GH
album... and that they probably never would. Is it possible that U2
crumbled under all the money? I know it doesn't sound like something
that U2 would do and that's what's dissapointing. Also, does this mean
that when U2 were supposed to get back in the studio in September, it
wasn't for new songs??? If anyone out there could clear things up for
me I would really appreciated it a lot, just e-mail me.
