After reading about this GH album and all sorts of reactions to it
(most of them pretty much negative) what really surprises that, to my
knowledge, nobody made a connection between GH album and Islands 40th
anniversary. As stated on their www.island40th.com web site the record
company is "celebrating 40 years of progressive music" with releases
of retrospectives, artist anthologies and compilations. This
anniversary celebration will continue through the end of 1999.
Recently released anthologies include Tom Waits and Grace Jones.
Now, isn't it logical to release an anthology from their most popular
and definitely the best band - U2?
Personally I don't think that GH albums are anything bad - quite
contrary. I have read a lot reviews of GH albums from other artists
(who are still very active) and large majority of them were very
positive. So I really don't see why U2's GH album should be a
catastrophy or something like that. We should at least wait for the
release and then make judgements.
To Lilith, your post was the best I've read in a long time. I stand
behind you 100%.
Sorry about bad English, I'm trying my best.
P.S.: Are there any wirelings from Croatia?
