OK, here goes nothing. Apparently some people think U2's visit with
Clinton is a blot on their morality.reason why they, or anyone else,
should stop speaking to Clinton because he's a pretty morally flawed
person. This does not mean that they approved of his morals; they simply
chose not to raise a stink about the guy's indiscretions. They can't
support or oppose him, because they are Irish citizens. Also, they
iniatially became friends with Clinton years before anyone had heard of
Monica Lewinsky.. Clinton happens to like U2. Is this immorality on the
band's part? Heavens, no...this is guilt by association, and it's not
fair. Yes, there are people who won't treat jerks like jerks. What's the
point? Are they going to turn into jerks?
Please, do not, I repeat do not, flame me for this. I'm not saying I
approve of what Clinton has been doing......but it's his fault, and his
alone. Don't hold it against anyone who became friends with him before
this damn scandal broke. We had no idea this would happen. OK, I'm tired
of standing on this soapbox.
