As for your talking about the illegality of bootlegging, that is
really a gray area in law since there can be no way to establish
international laws that are all-encompassing to all nations and
states. International law is established by customs and treaties
among others because in teh international sphere, a law cannot simply
be passed to encompass a country that does not practice such acts and
accept it as custom. This is because of differing cultures among
nations. So unless, counties sign international agreements or
treaties to declare the illegality of bootlegs, there will be nothing
intrinsically wrong.
The more binding question that will encompass all human beings
would be the morality or immorality of the act of purchasing bootlegs.
My "provisional" position is that there is nothing wrong with
purchasing bootlegs, and I thin many people share the same sentiments
because most of them have bootlegs.
So I don't feel guilty when I buy bootlegs.
Cheers,
J
