"The field is further muddied by the fact that recent weeks have seen a
plethora of companies announcing secure software for MP3 files. And,
although Liquid Audio's Wingate announced that Real Networks would begin
supporting his format with the G2 player, Real Networks itself has been
working separately with record companies on music downloads, most recently
with Polygram for a U2 promotion, according to spokesperson Cari Gushiken."
