Bono's glasses

During the entire ZooTV era Bono was seen in his fly shades, and through
out PopMart it was the yellow shades, but post Pop he has been wearing the
big black framed glasses. Just wondering - are these glasses for vision
correction, or just for style?

If just for style, I wonder why he feels it necessary to ALWAYS sport some
type of eyewear. Is it a way of hiding a part of himself while in the
public eye? Speaking of eyes, I want to see his - unadorned!
