Ticket "Brokers" and other stuff

I have a NON-drug/alcohol related query for you:

Has anyone out there had experience with ticket brokers--not scalpers,
but the legal companies (at least in some states, including California
and I think New York) that offer tickets to sold out shows? If so, what
did you think of them? Do you think that they are a necessary evil or
do you think they should be outlawed?
