well, bono himself said it when bill flanagan quoted him quoting oscar
wilde (who incidentally shares the same birthday as me & mario puzo--the
guy who wrote the godfather--TANGENT).....

"man is least himself when he talks in his own person; give him a mask and
he will tell you the truth."

so, dynne, again, i say you're right....and i know from personal
experience this is true...i mean, hell, it's part of the reason i'm
sitting here typing this at 5:45am. *shrug* everyone's got at least one
role they play....some of us do it so well and so often (so constantly?)
that most people can't even tell.

and, of course, maybe bono's speeches got more coherent and pointful
during zootv and popmart cos...um, he wasn't playing "mr political
activist saintt bono on the cross" guy anymore. just a thought. *shrug*
