Re: the song that got me into U2

    Obviously this is going to be about I came to know and love the best band
in the world, U2.
    It all started my freshman year of high school. We were voting on songs
for homecoming. One of the choices was ONE and I remember them playing it,
and me thinking, "wow that is some good music!" Of course, my school being
the rocking school that it is, voted One in for the homecoming theme song. :)
I asked my friend, a total music genius, about U2, and he said that they were
an amazing band. That was it for a while. I ended up being the girlfriend of
that music genius friend, and he made me a tape of his favorite songs, which
were, One, Until the End of the World, Mysterious Ways, and With or Without
You. I wore out the tape. One was the song that really got me hooked. The
intro, the lyrics, the everything!
    I ended up borrowing all his U2 cds, and then buying them myself. Years
pass, and Popmart is coming to Seattle, close to where I live. I couldn't go,
and I remember sitting at home depressed. Soon after that I became truly
obsessed. I rented all the videos I could find, and forced my family to watch
them.:) I am proud to announce that I have converted all members of my family
except one! My 5 year old brother even knows all the names of the band (Edge
is his favorite). So that is my story about U2 and some reasons why I came to
love them.
