October at the end of Best of

Everyone is saying "oh, October is at the end of the Best of as a hidden
track, but no one has mentioned that it isn't the entire song. At least on
my disk it is just a snippet of October, some instrumental and then Bono,
singing "October...it just goes on and on" and that's it. It ends. Does everyone's
hidden track end that way or is mine truncated for some inexplicable reason?
And if everyone's is that way, what's with that? Why put it there in the first place?
And if mine is the only one that way, well, darn!
