behind on current events unless it's fed directly to them.

Anyway, Bigmouth Online is now reporting the story:

U2 net 50m dollars

The Financial Times reports that U2 have signed an, unprecedented, contract
worth $50m for three compilation albums, a record for previously recorded
material. The paper says that the first of the three 'Best of' - albums will
be on sale in November, in time for Christmas. The three albums will contain
tracks culled from all ten of their albums.
