Pre-U2, Edge summer job included being a potato picker, Bono pumped gas
one year, later Edge was immersed in the world of petrochemicals. In
his words 'if we don't sign a contract 12 months after I leave high
school, I'll go on to college.'
Edge predicted he might have ended up working for Esso or Shell, while
Larry who worked briefly for a US based oil company 'could be in
Houston.' Bono, Edge said, always wanted to teach and 'would've done it
brilliantly because he has that ability to communicate.' Adam was 'only
interested in music' and 'wanted to make it.'
