more tape trader questions (non-u2 content)

Before anything else, thanks to everyone for their responses and once
again I would like to apologize to Wire for this non-u2 post. Oh by
the way, I bougth the R&H dolby ac-3 LD and was not disappointed.

Here are some questions:

What are the advantages of metal cassette tapes (which cost even more
than cds!)? If the difference is in sound, would that difference be
noticeable or significant if I use a mini-system to transfer from CD
to the metal tape, as compared to CD to type II chrome tape? In
short, I'm looking for anyone out there who can educate me on metal
tapes...

PS: What do you guys think about the Sony UX Type II HIgh Position
Chrome cassette?
