But...can you picture what this is going to be like? Not a pretty
sight. Baaaaaad news. Bono, Edge, Larry and Adam are so talented and
creative. Why don't they focus once again on making some really
incredible music, like....THE JOSHUA TREE...ACHTUNG BABY...etc.
This past weekend I was watching MTV for a little while, and this
special called something like, "The Top 10 music events of the 90's" (I
know that's not right, but it was something like that) was on. And one
of the things was about Puff Daddy and that whole re-mixing craze and
using samples of other artists' work to create something new and
"exciting." Then I got to thinking...U2 should try doing that with more
of their older songs (besides the Sweetest Thing). Not that there's
anything wrong with the originals...of course not! I love those songs
just the way they are. But...think how good songs like Wire, Indian
Summer Sky, Trip Through Your Wires, Indian Summer Sky, 11 o'clock Tick
Tock, (and...oh, I can't remember right now which other songs I had been
thinking about) could sound remixed, updated, and just changed around a
bit?? Just look what they did to Night and Day! One of my now all-time
favorite songs (the U2 version, of course!).
Has anyone else had any of these thoughts? Or am I just nuts?
Wait--don't answer that second one!
Hope you don't think this post is a total waste of WIRE space!
