<<This afternoon my roommate Genevieve and I were watching the 'Rattle and
Hum' video. The song 'Bad' came on and both of us stopped
talking/studying and were 'mesmerized' by the preformance. Has anyone
else noticed how much emotion Bono puts into this?<<

Has anyone ever noticed? You're asking a U2 fan club in excess of over
4,000
faithful if we've ever noticed that Bono puts emotion into Bad? Arguably
the
best live single song performance the band has ever done, and you're asking
if
we've noticed the emotion? C'mon girl, get with it!. Next thing you know,
she'll be asking what Hawkmoon 269 means! ;-)
I'm glad to see we are all trying to keep our reputation up and kind,
helpful people who are showing each other the light. Some people are
younger than others, here. Some are new to U2, and some are new to Wire.
Different people start really listening to songs at different points. Jill
had an epiphany, a revelation. Do you really want to walk all over such an
experience? Don't you want to encourage her to ask questions about the
music, to explore it and find a deeper richer understanding? Don't you
want her to get more joy out of the music that has brought us, oh jaded
fans, so much joy already?
Instead you're content to riducule, sarcastically critisize, and do your
best to make someone with a curious, open (blooming) mind, feel stupid.
Instead of calling yourself one of the faithful, act like one of them.
There is more than just beauty in these songs we love, there are ideas,
ideas about how we should treat each other and what kinds of attitudes we
should have towards oneanother.
I think an apology is in order.
