I just sent an e-mail to that U2 hating website guy. It was actually
kind of a *nice* letter (compared to the rude-ass hate mail he has
posted). I just talked about the point he made concerning certain kinds
of music being around *long* before...uh, how exactly did he put
it...."Bono pulled his head out of his ass" or something like that.
Anyway, I just stated that...ok, so what if the music (blues, techno,
etc.) was around long before Bono, Edge, Larry or Adam knew it even
existed; long before they thought about makin' their own and tryin'
somethin' new. So what? The guys have never said anything along the
lines of, "We are pioneers of this music! It is ours and we started it
aaaaaall!" so....what's the problem? The guys heard a certain kinda
music, liked it, and were inspired by it. Inspiration is a great thing
and U2 isn't trying to take credit for anything they don't deserve.
Actually, I believe they *give* credit to others like it's goin' outta
style! They're awesome. Geez, I guess this loser website guy'll just
never see the light. Bummer for him. He's really missin' out!
