The Blues, the Devil and... Bono!

Hey fellow wirelings,

I'm a U2 nut in Toronto who could use some help doing some
research on the band.

I am writing a mini-book/booklet about the spiritual themes in U2's music
and I want to properly reference the following two quotes by Bono:

1. This was in a British newspaper at the beginning of January 1998 (Jan.
1 or 2 ?) Bono was interviewed and said something to the effect that "the
Psalms in the Bible were the first real blues" - Bono was wearing some
funky leopard-skin boots in the photos that accompanied the article.

2. Was in a magazine (a fashion mag I think) somewhere around September to
November 1994. Bono was talking about the new stage persona "MacPhisto".
In this article Bono was discussing the stage set-up and why he put on the
horns - He said something like: "I may as well spell it out for you - what
all this is - it's the devil."

If you have either of these articles or know which paper/magazine they
were in and what day I would greatly appreciate your help. I would send
you something in return to say thanks. Please reply to me personally
rather than using the wire.
