Here's a question that I'd be interested in hearing your answers to.

What artists/songs have you discovered on any of the many compilation
albums that U2 has been a part of.

Heres some of mine.

* - James. The live version of "Ring the Bells" from Alternative NRG
turned me on to them. That coupled with the urgings of Elena E. led me to
find out that they are absolutly amazing.

* - P.M. Dawn. Also from the Alternative NRG album. A very talented group
that definately has a unique sound.

* - This one is my favorite. It's a songe by a member of one of my other
favorite bands, Depeche Mode. It's "Coming Back to You", performed by
Martin Gore, and appearing on the Tower of Song tribute album to Leonard
Cohen. It is the most amazing song, and I've only heard the original once.
I'd list Leonard Cohen here, but I was actually into him before I even had
this album.

* - Robbie Roberston. Simply put, he's one of the most talented
musicians/songwriters in the world today. Emotion.

I'm sure I'll find others as I eventually get through the number of U2
related discs that I've bought simply because they had U2 tracks on them.
I've really hardly listened to the Jimmie Rodgers tribute, Folkways, and
the Marvin Gaye tribute, not to mention Amazing Grace. Hell, I just went
over to my U2 rack and noticed many others I really need to get to.

Another reason I love U2, they've expanded my musical tastes, albeit
indirectly.
