I was actually thinking about starting my own list. "U2 fans who hate mailing
lists and are so egotistical that they need to feel special list." Just
joking.
I currently am the list manager for Exit. I subscribe to Wire, and Exit. Why?
Because I like both of them. Every thing in life has it's quirks folks. I've
been on Wire for years, and will remain here. Exit is basically Wire without
the non-U2 content. That's it. You also have to be nominated, which is
different from Wire. Call it whatever you want, but mailing lists are for
people of all types.
I love the music. That's the bottom line. I don't have the time to go through
every single post, so I do what I feel is neccesary to collect my U2 news.
(Hello Prarit.) That's my choice.
Wire is a great place, and so is Exit, and One, and so on. It's what you make
of it. If you bitch and moan, then you certainly aren't helping things. I just
prefer to keep a hands off approach and just smile when someone says something
bad. The only thing I don't like to see is 200 U2 mailing lists. (Exaggeration
- but you know what I mean.) Wire was THE place. The shit. Etc. Now, we're
scattered. But like I said, it's peoples right to choose. Period.
Just my .02
Best,
Brad Grantham
