Well there were two "Bono" posts the other day, so which one should we
believe? Would Bono really have an angelfire account? Why? Why not,
some may say. Doesn't he have better things to do with his time? Is the
the first time folks on Wire have accused him of drug use? Why would he
choose now to respond? the Angelfire Bono said a friend let him know
about the debate on Wire. Who is this friend? Maybe the woman who has
met with Bono and seems to know him (sorry I can't remember your name)
could let us know what she thinks the likelihood is of Bono posting to the
list or saying the things he said. I have heard that Edge is sometimes
online and I have also heard (I thought a direct quote from one of the
band members) that they do keep tabs on Wire. But really I can't imagine
Bono taking time out to post something like that. Especially not TWO
Bono's. So which one do we believe? I have a hard time seeing Bono
describe himself as our "leader" despite what our personal glorified
opinions are of the man. While I can imagine he might respond as "Mr
Yeats" did, in reality, I would hope after 20 years in the business, he
would just get a chuckle out of the drug thread and not take it seriously
or as defamation to his character. I'm sure worse things have been said
about him over the years and I'm sure he's pretty immune to all of that
now. If not, well then he must be worried out of his mind every day. Who
could live like that? If one of the band members did belong to the list,
they would be more than welcome. But unfortunately there would be no way
to prove their identity and no one would ever believe them. But man would
my face be red if Bono did read my post about his beauty ;)
Regards,
Tanya
ps--super good point about Bono often referring to Edge as "The Edge." I
thought of that too.
