Hey Lee,

Personally I think U2 would be selling themselves out by doing the
christmassy thing!
I already feel that they've taken a step back by releasing a best of
(which in my humble opinion really is not the best-of U2).
Can there really ever be a best of U2 - without the inclusion of every
single song???
I think not.
Did Bono,Larry,Edge & Adam choose what songs would be on the best of???
To me - the best of (especially the "limited edition" sic!) would be a
great christmas present for a U2 listener.
Personally that's why I feel they bought it out - just to make money to
buy their families christmas presents!!! (and expensive ones at that)!
Hey - I'm not trying to dis my boys - it's just that in my humble
opinion - what have they done over the past few years?!?
POP was good - but not great!
Oh to have been born 5-8 years earlier in U2's heyday - to have seen
some U2 innocence.
I friend remarked to me the other day and I qoute :
"What happened to the good old U2, the good guys, where have they gone -
why did they let themselves get caught up in the whole 'glory days'
thing?"
And my answer - well - it went something like this :
"You can never take anything away from U2. They have written and
performed some of the greatest music ever. If you take away everything
about the band (good and bad) - you'll still have their music - and
that's what counts!"

Well - that's a long answer to a short queston - in fact - I think I
sorta sidetracked - okay - I definitely sidetracked - hope no-one
minds.

At the end of the day - U2 are sheer genius - they've made some of my
worst times bearable and some of my best times unbelievable.

Thank you fo the music guys.
