Top of the mornin' (or evenin') to y'all!
Because of recent emails and comments about my post,
I feel the need to clarify a bit. (1) Do I feel that Bono
and Edge are romantically involved? Nope. Unconditional
affection does not a gay person make--which was actually
my (somewhat failed) attempt to make a point. Many recent
postings have been petty observations turned into gospel truths
(such as "Bono's incessant ramblings = drug/alchohol use"
or "Bono's intelligence = non-drug use"; well, gee then "the
guys' affection for each other MUST = doing the nasty")
(2)Am I homophobic or not comfortable with my sexuality?
Nope. I have many beautiful gay friends and am a member
of PFLAG and The Human Rights Campaign. I'm very
comfortable with sex and my sexuality, thank you very much.
(4) Do I think affection is always "deviant?" Nope. The more
love, affection, and tenderness--between lovers AND friends--
in the world the better. Nor do I think that homosexuality is
in any way "DEVIANT." (3)Do I have a problem discussing
drugs? Nope. Discussions and /or disagreements are healthy.
However, as I've, er, hinted at in previous posts, I cringe
at the disrespect and total lack of tolerance in our little
community. I find it ironic that many of those posting, feel
that U2 can "unite" massive populations through their
music, but seem not to let that "unity" influence THEM.
After witnessing attacks and counter attacks on wire, I
believe U2 would have an easier task of solving the famine
problem in Africa than encouraging harmony on this list!

P.S. The recent Propaganda is a double issue (28/29)
They have no website currently.
P.P.S. Thank you Robbie R. for making me smile and
Christy B. for warming my heart!
