Where to begin? You guys never cease to inspire me and reassure me that
there are other people out there that do the crazy U2-obsessed things that I
do, and feel the same wonderful feelings that I do when I listen to their
music. You wirelings are GREAT!
Back to U2...Tonite I was driving home, a long drive, listening to U2 and
UTEOTW came on, and it was dark, and all the tailights and the neon signs and
the street lights all suddenly became brighter, ( no I wasn't on drugs) and it
was almost like the song was the soundtrack to what I was doing... ok I know
that sounds wierd. It was like the light and the dark and the music went so
well together that I had to stop and catch my breath. It made reality seem
like it was made for the music, instead of the other way around. I've had the
same experience before. This summer, I was driving through the eastern part
of Washington State, it is dry, dusty and desertlike there. Guess what I was
listening to? The Joshua Tree. All of sudden I felt a connection there,
between what was out my window and what was in my cd player. The music fit
the land so well. It was so weird.
Enough rambling about that. Last night my U2-loving friend and I went on
a U2 hunt around our city looking for posters, shirts, and rare cds and
movies. We were pretty succesful, and among the things we found, was an
interview cd and booklet that my friend bought. The thing is, no where on the
cd does it say when or where the interviews are done. The interviews are
interesting, there are two of them. The second one states that it is around
the time of the release of The Joshua Tree, but the first one has no clues
really. This is what the cd and booklet look like: black, white and orange
graphics, JT era pic of Bono onstage, gold words Limited Edition on bottom,
white words Interview Disc & Fully Illustrated Book on top, the book is by
Mark Taylor. So if anyone has this and knows when these interviews took place
and by who, can you tell me please?
thanks for letting me ramble u2-ley
in the name of love,
Kris
