Your friendly neighborhood Abe here to post a lighter comment on our U2.
First I'll comment on the recent content on WIRE ( or lack thereof...)
1.) Numbered CD's - this sounds like a collecting issue , not a music issue.
You are all amusing the way you run around like chickens with their heads cut
off because you didnt get a little number on your CD. I collect U2 CD's also ,
but only ones that have different MUSIC on them. Get a life.
2.) Charts - so Allanis beat U2 on the charts. Lets remember that a.} - the
charts are for brainless morons b.} this is not a new release for U2 , rather
a repeat of old stuff , and therefore we should be happy (chartwise) that they
were so high. c.} if youre watching the charts... Get a life.
I for one was opposed to the GH album, but now that I have it , I have
accepted it into the fold, bought all 4 releases (2 singles , 2 CD's ) and am
happy with the live cuts of the old songs, pleased with the Sweetest Thing
video and new version (still like the old one better ) and happy to have
something to look at and think about. That's all I think , for I ..... Have a
life.
I thought that the POPMART video they released was so well done , it brings
joy to my heart. They edited it and cut it and added new angles in such a way
as to make it fun to watch , even though I recorded it off of Showtime a while
back. Great job guys !!!
NOW - here are my non- related thoughts and requests.
1.) I am looking for a U2 POPmart concert CD - and not one that costs 30
dollars. I have never paid that much for one and will not start now - Anyone
got a non- CDR boot for under 30 or know where to get one ? Gimme a shout !
2.) I am looking to TRADE VIDEOS - I have a 14 videotapes of various U2 items
, concerts , interviews , videos , appearances etc. - Some REAL good stuff. I
am looking for anything I don't have and especially some of the more recent
videos ( Sweetest Thing Please , and Staring... Miami version ) the David
Letterman interview , and the recent Omagh tribute appearance on Irish TV. I
will trade real good for that stuff. Just e-mail me for details and we can
swap lists.
Thanks all and lighten up or i'll be forced to explode on everyone again with
a 3-part thesis statement and 10 page rambling on how stupid you are.
