we will never know

Alright...the truth is that we will never know just what Bono does or did on
the tour...and I am beginning to think it really doesn't matter. Obviously if
he did do crack in 87, it was on a very casual basis...because if he has been
doing it for over 10 years it would certainly show by now....I'm not saying I
don't think bono hasn't expiremented, but I am saying that it obviously hasn't
affected him in any visible way..and I'm also really surprised that if he did
do it on a regular basis..ESPECIALLY during the JT tour, that he wasn't called
on it.. Also I admit this..I can't really see Bono being Stupid enough to do
something that bold, not during the success of Joshua Tree, not while u2 were
being celebrated for standing against stuff like that..I'd believe it alot
more if they were reported to be doing it at a club...but bono being brash
enough to do it in a dressing room...i find that hard to believe.
Guys, I know that ignorance isn't really bliss...but what do we have as fans
to gain from speculation like this? I get alot out of their music and I would
like to think that bono isn't lying out of his teeth while singing a song like
running to stand still or bad....it just hurts the magic, hurts the effect.
Now instead we are just tearing each other down over a report that may or may
not be true..and probably doesn't have much relevance to their current music
anyway.....besides if i belived all the rumours ive heard here and on u2
sites....these things would have happened
1. adam would be dating a spice girl
2. Adam got 'saved' and the others 'rededicated' their lives during the second
leg of the popmart tour
3. Bono would be singing with will smith on a record called "Black Irish"
Most likely all of these are not true, and though they might be fun to talk
about..there is no way to prove or disprove them...so I do understand fans
difficulty with believing this one as well.
