True--there's no _commercial_ single released in the US. Some stores are
selling the British imports.

Island/Polygram did release a radio-only _promo_ of "The Sweetest Thing";
it's a single-track CD (no b-sides). I assume that this is what's getting
played, and that the intent was to promote the entire CD, not just a
single. Just like they released the song's video to MTV, VH1, et al, but
didn't have a domestic single to promote.

This happens from time to time; for example, a radio edit CD of "Zooropa"
was released, even though the song was never commercially available as a
single. Copies of "Melon" were supplied to radio stations, even though
that entire CD was never released commercially (and I'm still not certain
if the "Melon" CDs that went to radio were labelled as "promos", or if
they were just given copies of the CD, like the ones that went out to the
fan club members...sorry, a momentary lapse into collector anal-retentive
thinking...) "Numb" was released to radio stations on a 12" (under the
"Fee Dognoodle" pseudonym), but was only available commercially on that
"video single" thingie. I bet some of you can think of more! ;-)
