I'm sorry I don't know the exact date of broadcast but during the taping
Michael Stipe mentioned Bono gave him some advice on the R.E.M. song
"Walk Unafraid." I don't know how he influenced him or what advice he
gave but it's a good song. I hope they don't edit that part out.
In a recent interview Stipe mentioned people he called concerning the
new R.E.M. album and Bono was one of them. Stipe said he let people
know if they in any way influenced a song ...The song 'Walk Unafraid'
was inspired by something Patti Smith told him but somehow Bono helped
him out ...I don't know if the song "Walk Unafraid" was written with
Bono in mind but it could very easily be applied to him...I know I think
of him when I hear it!
