Since we've got this lovely Streets thread going, I thought I'd share my
love of this song. I hate to admit that when I first got the album, before I
was an obsessed U2 fanatic, I often skipped this song because my impatience
did not allow me to listen to the whole beautiful intro. I was STUPID; the
intro is the most wonderful part! As a matter of fact, I am listening to
WTSTHNN right now and lovin' it. When I first knew that this song was amazing
was the first time I watched Rattle and Hum. Who knew that a red background,
flashing lights, and Edge's guitar could evoke such feelings! I think I was
awestruck, whispering "oh my god oh my god."
Ever since then, WTSHNN has been like a spiritual experience, especially on
the PopHeart cd it is soooo good! Not to mention the same feelings on ZooTV
at Sydney, and Popmart Mexico City. It is definatley one of my favorites.
I got the Popmart video the day it came out, and it was the last one in
the store, lucky me! I watched it with one of my U2 obsessive friends, and it
almost felt like we were there. Good thing we have the video though, because
now we can rewind that beautiful shot of Bono taking off his sunglasses right
after SATS. I dare say we viewed that good-lookin' man several times in a
row. Well I'm done for now.
