"The band also passed on another early Williams concept, a nightly millenium
bash called U2000 featuring a huge clock racing to midnight, Dec. 31, 1999 -
at which point, U2 would play their big hit from the War album, "New Year's
Day."
Not a big surprise that U2 passed on this idea. Although when I first read
the article, I thought this was a brilliant idea, it didn't take long to see
that it wouldn't work for U2. It's a farily empty, party concept. U2 isn't
exactly a "Party Band(Thank God)." We'll leave that concept for the
Stones(who are an equally amazing band, just in a different way).
One other thing...while watching the Mexico video, I noticed this back in
December of last year, but never posted...
Isn't it funny that, seeing how much has changed, just how little has as
well...
Watch "Where The Streets Have No Name,"... gotta love those side shots
featuring Edge, Bono, and Adam lined up at the front of the stage...Is that
not right out of the Rattle And Hum version or what? If anybody else noticed
this, please tell me so I don't feel like an idiot. If you didn't notice
this, PLEASE go back and look...the best shots are during the first chorus.
It's really great.
Well, that's all for today. Take care everybody.
Fake as anything,
Matt
