Love is blindness... I don't want to see...
Hi, wirelings! I'm new to this,so forgive any "uncoolness" on my
part...I don't get many
chances to check the list (it's my brother's computer, and i'm not here
every day...)
Anyway, I'm perfectly happy with the first "best of" (and why call it
GH? it's not just
any gh collection... It's U2!) At last! The ones of us who remember the
80's can finally
look back without feeling guilty... (does any one else feel like I do?)
I'm living now in
Israel, but I was a brazilian when I first heard of them... It was 1985,
and red rocks
"Sunday Bloody Sunday" was brand new, the coolest video/song around...
And it was
the wrongest year of my life... My "friends" in school thought I was
crazy (G-d Knows
why...), my grades went down, and to top it all, a good friend of mine
died in a car
crash.... By December I was a total emotional wreck... Then the
Brazilian radio released
"New Year's Day"... My english wasn't this good back then, and the only
thing I could
understand of what Bono was singing was "I will begin again..." Anyway,
it was enough
for me! It was Love at first sight! I held on, hung on to this song as
if it was a life boat, a
safe harbour in a tempest, and on new year's eve this song was my wish
for '86... And it
worked! The next year my life got back on track, and I even got to take
music lessons...
Since then, only U2 exists for me. Bono saved my sanity, and I mean it!
I believe nothing
happens by chance. Does anyone else have a story to share with me? Mail
me at the list
or at my brother's address. It could take a week or two, but I"ll do my
best to answer
everyone.
All my love, Moonchild
