I think that Lady with the Spinning Head would be a great choice for a
single release if they decided to do a b-sides disc with the best of
1990-2000, but remade? No way...this single kicks ass without touching it
at all. I think that the parts they added to Sweetest Thing were good,
although I still hear the old song in the back of my mind, not the new
version. I'd also like to see some of those "lost" b-sides, but not just
from the Achtung outtakes but what about all those other songs they
supposedly recorded for Pop? I think some of those songs would make a great
addition to any 1990-2000 b-sides collection. Let's face it, if you don't
include remixes and stuff like that, U2's catalog of b-sides in the 90's is
far smaller than that of the 80's, and it might take some new stuff from the
Pop and AB sessions to make this disc complete. But hey this is all
hypothetical.
Now in answer to the question someone had about Everlasting Love. This
song was actually done by Carl Carlton back in the 1970's. (source:
Billboard's All Music Book of Hit Singles). I don't know who he was
either....
