deep dread depression

Wire Folk,
Can you imagine? I'd been waiting with absolute eagerness for my copy of
Popmart-Live from Mexico City to arrive from CDNow. After what seemed to be
countless delays holding the video in production and out of my slobbering
hands, the video finally arrives. I turn out the lights, grab the beer of my
choice, turn on stereo surround sound, and plug the video into my VCR. The
credits roll and I thank my lucky stars for the Polygram Video network. Then
the music starts...What?! The sound track sounds like the worst possible
bootleg. It sounds like the tape has been strained through a collander.
Could there be anything worse? I can see the concert with perfect clarity,
but the beautiful sounds of the band U2 are nowhere to be found. Now I have
to send the tape back through the mail and wait for a second copy. I wonder
if that copy will be damaged too. Was the entire shipment of Popmart half
readied? Did others find similar horror awaiting them after opening their
copy of Popmart? I hope in my heart of hearts that no other Wirelings shared
this experience, but I would like to know...Is the shipment of Popmart flawed.
I'll rewatch my copies of Under a Blood Red Sky, Rattle and Hum, and Zootv for
now.
Joe
