I'm afraid I've come down with the Review Induced Dizziness Syndrome
>From Hell.....I've been reading all of the reviews of GH's on the Web
sites, and I've never seen such a diversity of opinions in my life. This
is because I've never been much of a review reader. I don't think these
writers are any "smarter" about music than I am. No one can pronounce
an album great, awful or indifferent with the certainty that we can
state that two hydrogen atoms bound with an oxygen atom will give us a
water molecule. I think appreciation of art is as much a matter of the
heart (emotions) as it is of the head (thought). We U2 fans are, yes,
one, but not the same. I agree with these people who are complaining
about the definition of a "true" U2 fan. Is someone going to brand me
less of a fan because I'm also a fan of Eastern European folk music?
Sorry, folks, I'm part Polish, and that's part of my identity. Let's not
take our opinions and preferences *too* seriously lest we end up
intolerant of someone else's. That is *not* cool.
Pax,
Patricia
