First of all let me say that I love you guys! I enjoy reading the
Wire each day to find out new little tidbits about the world's
greatest band, for example, I would have never thought to let the Best
Of cd play through after All I Want Is You to discover October. I
loved it, and found out about it here on Wire. Thank you.
While you all must remember that I love you, I am disappointed and
annoyed. I am so sick of reading posts about the gh cd. For example,
no limited numbering, the cost, the re ordering of more gh sets, what
songs should or should not have been on it. I am tired of the whiners
whining. I have no names to name, you whiners know who you are. I
think we should all just shut up and be happy that "our" band put
something "new" out for us to buy and enjoy their music even more.
We all need to remember a couple of things. 1) U2 is not there to
provide for each and every one of our individual interests. There are
millions of us in the world, and we all have different opinions, but
the only opinions that matter are those of U2, Paul McGuinness,
Principle Management, and Island/PolyGram. 2) U2 themselves have
said that this cd set is for those that may not know the U2 of the
80's. Many friends of mine don't know any of their older stuff, and
this set is perfect for them to see that U2 has always been the great
band that they are today.
I am very happy with the gh set. I have been listening to it all week
nonstop. I even purchased it for $28! I did this because the small
music store I bought it from takes care of me. And for buying it from
them, I got the two sided promo poster for free! It has Peter Rowan
in the helmet on one side, and a JT era photo of the band on the other
with the gold metallic border around it. $28 is a small price to pay
for excellent customer service! Thanks Modified!
Thanks for listening to my gripe! I still love you all, let's just be
happy with what we've got!
