The Best Of

So I didn't wait in a line at midnight, sadly I didn't even wait in a line
tuesday morning as the stores opened. Even sadder still, tuesday came and
went and I didn't even attempt to buy the best of album. Well Wednesday
came and I finally made an effort and picked up my copy of the best of
album. It was kinda cold in dallas last night. After a long and arduous
summer of 100+ weeks & months, it was nice to get down to the 40's or 50's
or whatever it was last night . . . anyways I'm driving down the chilly
streets of dallas, with the heat all the way up and my windows and sunroof
open and TBO <the best of> in the player, and of course a smile on my face.
I still remember all those people from my past when I hear With Or Without
You, New Year's Day still amazes me for being 15+ years old and still
sounding light years ahead of anything that's come out of any artist to
date. As always, Streets still makes me shiver, sends a chill up my spine,
and makes the hair on my arms stand up. My only regret is that the only
response I got while cruising the streets of north dallas last night was one
guy who looked over, shook his head and looked away. Can you believe that
was while I was listening to Bad? Let the complainers complain, let the
naysayers nay, I'm not gonna force anyone to like TBO, it's enough for me to
know that I love it. Wanna hear something weird? I listened to the b-sides
for a minute, listened to the first three songs, then skipped around a bit,
and then I couldn't take it anymore, I couldn't resist putting TBO back in
the player. I'll get to the b-sides in a few days, but right now I'm
rediscovering all the things that made me love this band in the first place.
thanks for the space, and sorry for the ramblings . . .
