Is this a BEST OF or a GREATEST HITS

I am wondering if this new compilation is a BEST OF or a GREATEST HITS? Does
anyone else here see the difference?

A BEST OF should be just that -- the best songs of an artist. Check out the
Crowded House best of, where Neil Finn handpicked 4 songs from each of the
four Crowded House albums which he felt were the best moments from each. The
were a few of the singles included, but many of the songs were just personal
favourites. (And actually, some of the bigger "hit" songs were left off --
which is good because "Chocolate Cake" is not one of Mr. Finn's finest
moments).

Unfortunately, BEST OF often translates as GREATEST HITS, and vice versa.
Though I love all the songs on the present U2 compilation (save for one), I
am scared to see what the next U2 compilation will look like. BEST OF
1990-2000 is going to be cluttered with "Mysterious Ways," "Numb" and "If
God Will Send His Angels" rather than other tracks which are way better but
where never released as singles. "Mysterious Ways" may be one of U2's
greatest hits, but I would argue that it isn't one of their best of. There
are songs on Auchtung Baby which are much better. Give me "Acrobat" or "Love
is Blindness" over "Mysterious Ways" any day of the week. I will be amazed
if "Dirty Day" made it on such a compilation, though it think it is the best
song from Zooropa. Why does commercial hit equate greatness?
