<<I love the new version of ST, but I think that the choice of b-sides is
miserable. Of all the live tracks, I have other versions that are MUCH
BETTER. And I also think that the sound quality of the Boston tracks is
miserable for an official release. U2 didn't take the time to go through
the archives and find some really great and interesting live versions.
And the worst thing: the person who mastered the CDs screwed up: about
3:30 into An Cat Dubh, there are about 3 or 4 short signal dropouts,
which sound like when you mess around with your headphone plug
whilelistening...
So all you people who are going to spend a lot of money on imports,
think twice, because you will listen to these CD singles a few times
and when you have the GH album, you will never touch them again.
Unless you're a completist, don't buy them.>>
Sorry to disagree.
I bought the single with "Twilight" and "An Cat Dubh" on it, and
i absolutely loved the live tracks. In fact, i'm listening
to them over and over...even more than ST itself.
I already had Boston'83 soundboard on tape, but the quality
of these tracks (in my opinion) is quite better, and
extremely enjoyable (although, as you say, there may
be better versions, but i don't know them).
I didn't plan on buying the second ST single, but having
heard those live tracks, i want more, and i'll definitely
be doing it.
Anyone will have its own opinion. I just like it a lot.
