I started the whole discussion, so let me clarify this a moment -- I've
already made this clarification for people who have emailed me privately.

When I wrote "U2's defining moment" as the subject of my post yesterday,
I only used that phrase to keep the subject reasonably short. The actual
question that I asked was:

What is the most important/significant day or event in U2's career?

Sure, the day they met Paul McGuinness is hardly a "defining moment," but
it's definitely one of the most important days of their career. That's
what I was after when I started the topic. So, for the purpose of
discussion, maybe we need to separate the questions. Defining moments are
definitely a different beast than significant days/events, so that will
have to be the new poll question on the @U2 web site. :-)

Oh, and as I mentioned, this question was the poll question on my poll
last week. I forgot to mention the full results, which are at my home
computer, so this is from memory:

1. the day they met Paul McGuinness
2. release/debut of Achtung Baby/Zoo TV
3. release of Joshua Tree
4. Live Aid
5. day they signed with Island Records

Thanks again for all the comments - anyone else surprised at the results
above? I sure was.

Matt
