Some of you may be aware that Polygram New Zealand have been trying to get
'One Tree Hill' (originally a single released in New Zealand only) added
to the New Zealand pressings of the 'Best of' CD. This has been of
particular interest to fans here in NZ and U2 collectors worldwide (since
such an item would be highly sought after). There has been some
speculation on whether their attempts were successful, so I wrote an email
to Polygram NZ to see if they would let me know the latest. Within an
hour, they had replied with the answer, which follows:

Mike - thanks for your mail regarding U2.
Unfortunately 'One Tree Hill' will not be appearing on New Zealand copies
of 'The Best Of 1980 - 1990', for the exact reasons you outlined
(deadlines, etc). It was a long shot, one we were actively persuing to
the
point of having a meeting with the band to discuss our options. As you
will be aware this project came together very quickly internationally.
