Tonight I saw Third Eye Blind at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas. When the band
came out for their encore the lead guitarist (whatever his name is - Kevin
Codagan, I think?) said, "This is the first song I ever learned to play on
guitar." And then the band played a stunning rendition of 'I Will Follow.'
They used pretty much the same effects that U2 used for the song on the
Popmart tour.
Also, the band had an acoustic set of 4 songs, and the lead singer (Steven
Jenkins?) held out his electric guitar for the audience to play at one point.
(a la bono during 'last night on earth.')
I saw 3eb open for U2 in New Orleans, and I must say that they have turned
into an excellent live band. The lead singer has the same "pizzazz" (for lack
of better word) that Bono was/is known for.
