As you'd expect for an album of this calibre, the marketing and promotional
campaign will concentrate on absolute saturation of the pre-Christmas
market. (IMHO, about time for Mercury to promote U2 in the Australian market)
- national metro TV campaign (Nov 2 through Christmas)
- national regional TV campaign (Nov 15 - Dec 6)
- instore merchandiser (stand thingy) with dedicated headercard
- massive promotional launches at radio, TV and print advertising
- reviews in all glossies and dailies
- MTV world exclusive U2 special
- Buspak advertising for the month of December
- Floor advertising at selected Westfield Shopping Centres (TBC)
- Cinema advertising (TBC)
And on the limited edition situation, as in US & Europe, will be on the
first order only. Pre-orders for stores close on the 9th of October and the
impression I got from my local store was that they will not be ordering
many more of the limited set than are preordered so get ordering!!
Aust release dates: 2 Nov & 9 Nov for single set
No word on Sweetest Thing. :(
