Anyway, he used a number of excellent sources, notably Bill Graham's (at
least, I believe that's the journalist's name) book "U2: At the End of
the World," and Niall Stokes' "Into the Heart." Graham's book deals more
with the psychology behind the scenes of U2, from Achtung Baby onward, and
Stokes interprets the meaning and quality of the music, with help from
interviews with the band and a bit of "historical context."
Also, look into Rolling Stone's compendium of Rock artists for more
information on sources, in the form of articles, critiques, etc.
